The cost of this Safe Travels Protect policy and coverage were economical. However, it took four months to process a simple medical claim of $250 that was very well documented. I had to contact Trawick three times to complain that I heard nothing from their designated claims manager called Surego. Finally, I received the check. I am glad I did not have a major monetary claim. I felt like the company was waiting for me to give up.

We purchased Trawick/Surego insurance (co-insured through AARDY travel insurance) because it was on the AARP website. Our trip was interrupted due to illness then death in the family. We kept excellent records and turned in all forms. It took 5 months, so many calls and in the end, got about 1/4 of what we expected to get reimbursed for. Frustrating, disheartening, disappointing. The advice of the first agent was completely inaccurate. This company should be completely avoided. It was the last thing we needed after losing a family member and missing a wonderful trip.

Excellent service and provides great policies. In this case needed to increase coverage since my trip, like many, seemed to grow and became several thousand dollars more expensive. Was able to increase the limit in an on-line chat with minimal waiting for an agent. And the agent was knowledgeable and fast.

Worthless claim service. We filed a trip delay claim 66 days ago. Claim was acknowledged and that's been it. After inquiries their email replies are auto generated "We'll get back to you". Phone inquiry messages are not returned.

We filed a claim with Trawick

We filed a claim with Trawick, which runs their claims through Surego. Filed the claim in November, 2024, and have yet to be contacted by a representative on our claims status. We have contacted them and were told our claim had been escalated on 3/10/25 and still have not hear from them. Unfortunately we didn't have the option to give them a ZERO star rating.

We booked a cancel for any reason…

We booked a cancel for any reason policy in October, 2024. On January 7, 2025 we filed a claim with Trawick, as we had to cancel our trip. As of today (April 15, 2025), we have not been compensated. We have been calling 2-3 times a week following up. We have only been told it is being reviewed. We were initially told it takes 40 business days to process a claim, but we are well past that window with no idea if we will ever get paid on our claim.

Fraud

I filed a claim on 2/19/25 for the missed days of my trip to Mexico due to weather. First they gave me the run around then they stopped responding to me all together. Now I have to file a insurance complaint.

Just sharing my experience with Trawick

Just sharing my experience and warn people. Traveled to Europe in Nov 2024, had a little medical accident there which required attention. Filled immeiately upon return.April 2025 not even started to review. Phone conversation (numerous) are useless. Outcome - zero. It is 100% fraud, pure and simple. You just give your $$ and nothing back. Actually, you might not need any medical coverage (unless you just drop dead there). Medical services in Europe (we were in Germany) just tiny fraction of what we pay in US.

Still waiting to settle claim

I placed a claim with mysurego.com that handles their claims in November of 2024. I had to cancel cruise because my husband was having surgery. I received a request for additional information which I supplied. I emailed them several times with no response. I contacted them by phone and each time I got the same response which was the will put a rush on it or refer it to a supervisor. This is frustrating and no way to do business. As of today April 2, 2025 I still have no settlement to my claim. Stay away from this company because they are incompetent and don’t know how to treat their customers.

I submitted an extremely damning review…

I submitted an extremely damning review on ‘alleged travel insurance’ company after fighting for over 8 months to resolve my claim; I was robbed while on vacation and provided every piece of evidence I could, surpassing their documentation requirements.
Suddenly, after 2 days of writing this review, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING on my claim was denied, down to my stolen underwear!
Unsure if I’m convinced this is coincidence! However, does anyone have any advice how to win an appeal against this company?
Also, has anyone actually received any money on their claims?
I’d certainly be grateful and appreciative of any info.
Thanks, in anticipation!!
H.
