Carscheckup

Carscheckup: Called 5 minutes after my C.L. posting. Friendly text but some miss use of words and maybe not a fluent English speaker. Said to be from from an area actually an hour farther way than they claimed. Agreed to my price and meeting time tomorrow, and wanted a vehicle inspection from Carscheckup. Gave the name Lisa bell. (Spelled that way!) I sent them the vin, but no, she must have Carscheckup. Writes like a guy - BTW. The first text at 2:41pm we are still going at 6:45.. I'm on to them, Ha!

I did not not purchase the Gold report due to card raising a red flag. He kepted persisting it wasn't a scam and pushing me . I finally just blocked and reported him as spam.

Carscheckup.com hires people to scam you.

Carscheckup.com hires people to impersonate a buyer, makes an appointment to see the car, then demands you first buy a Carscheckup.com detailed report @ $128 before they come see it. I received three texts nearly all with the same script. Then they don't show up to the meeting. I have reported them to the authorities.

Description of Incident:

Description of Incident:
I was selling my car when I was contacted by a potential buyer using the email from @ proton.me (untraceable) They claimed to be interested in purchasing my vehicle but insisted that I obtain a vehicle history report from a specific website: CarsCheckup.com.

This individual refused to accept reports from well-known services such as Carfax or AutoCheck and pressured me to buy from CarsCheckup.com instead. After researching, I found multiple reports online indicating that this is a common scam targeting private car sellers.

The scam works as follows:
1. The scammer contacts a seller and pretends to be interested in buying their car.
2. They insist the seller purchase a vehicle history report from CarsCheckup.com (or a similar fraudulent website).
3. Once the seller pays for the report and provides it, the scammer disappears and never responds.
4. In some cases, these websites steal credit card information or charge additional hidden fees.

Upon further investigation, I found that:
• CarsCheckup.com has numerous scam warnings from other users reporting the same fraudulent scheme.
• The website is not a recognized NMVTIS provider and likely fabricates reports.
• The scammer used ProtonMail, which is often used by scammers due to its anonymity.

This fraudulent scheme is designed to trick individuals into purchasing fake reports and potentially steal personal or financial information. I am reporting this so that action can be taken against CarsCheckup.com and to prevent more victims from being scammed.

Note: They are extracting data from AutoCheck and acting as an unauthorized broker, which is illegal.

It's a good and quick process site

I used it on my friend suggestions when I was selling my car and ever potential buyer was asking for the report. Then I did one from Carscheckup and I found the results good and pretty quick. I'm giving them 5/5 for their service and also recommend if you're selling your vehicle. Thanks
