I am pleased with the service after better understanding the contract take-over from previous buyer. If you have never had a security system you can get lost quick. I would propose Vivint give a link to how and better understand the components, set up and function. Most is on their site. I will review further after adding some equipment.

It was the installer! He explained each procedure well as he went about the job of installing our security system. Then he made me feel more at ease about how to operate it, by saying "there is no question that you should feel bad in asking it."

This system is practically perfect, Indo have one issue tho the video playback of the door bell camera is not working, I just keep getting a video decoder error. I can view live but no events? Other than that it's awesome.

Vivints outsourced customer service department is HORRIBLE! To get an appt for relocating my equipment was impossible. I was told numerous times they would call me to schedule if something became available because they were booked out 3 months and nothing. After months of me nagging them to get an appt after threatening to cancel my service. I finally got an appt set up for them to only reschedule it without my consent. Ever since I started service with them it's always something. Not even sure why I dealt with them so long.

Not the best start…

Ok so far setup and installation have been a little shaky. Didn’t tell me my thermostat wouldn’t work u til after he was finished w install. I had to buy a new one and then do it myself. The motion detection sensors they put up and window door sensors are falling down, they only used tape. I’m a little scared since the company I had previously for the last five years is still holding strong.
I do enjoy the updated cameras and stuff but maybe let’s do a better job w communication and instal process.
To be fair they did walk me through set up in the phone for the thermostat and they were helpful but I shouldn’t have had to do that in the first place. I wanted it all done and taken care of at once and now I need to support and reinstall all the sensors. Not a great first impression.

So far not pleased

So far I am not pleased with the service. My devices are offline frequently throughout the day since it’s been installed. People have come to my door and I didn’t know because the cameras keep going offline. I also found that the equipment didn’t pass testing when it was installed which something should’ve been said and done about that to mitigate the problem I’m experiencing now.

Sells people are high pressure

Sells people are high pressure. They know that the equipment cost is very high in comparison to others. Although I told the sales person that I would be calling my current security provider the next day, they asked could they start the installation today and said I could call in 7 or 10 days to cancel the service. I cancelled with Vivint the very next day after speaking with my current provider. We could have saved both my time and Vivint installation if he would have just said ok and then plan to come back tomorrow.

Overall Rating of Sales, Service and Installation

The original service and sales pitch and process was great which got me to change over from ADT/Brinks who I have had alarm service with for years. I literally had just installed a new Brinks control pad and system the literal same day that I was approached by the Vivint representative. The biggest reason for the change was offer of an upgraded system including camera's, new lock, panel etc while reducing my overall cost for security. The other company had only offered to give me a new panel after years of being a customer with them. The install was good overall however, the person who installed did not cleanup after themselves leaving wood shavings from the drilling of the hard wire of camera and sensors all over my garage. Besides the wood shavings, the install person was very courteous and accommodating to me and my schedule. I was told at the installation that Vivint would be using all of your own equipment because you could not leverage the prior security company (ADT/BRINKS) system. However, the previous company came to retrieve their equipment and are now telling me that they are going to charge me $150 because Vivint used their equipment to set up the Vivint system. I have called and texted the sales person about this issue and he indicated he was going to check with the install person and get back to me. He has not gotten back to me despite multiple calls and text messages to him. I am now paying $150 to Brinks for equipment that may or may not be there's. In either case, I was told at the time of sales Vivint would pay any buyout costs which would and should include this equipment charge but at this time are not living up to all the commitments and promises that I was given in deciding to change over.

LONG Installation

LONG Installation , this was scheduled for a 3 hour installation and I didn't think it would take that whole time. It not only took 3 hours, it took over 4hours!!! If this is what people are to expect, I really hope it gets fixed and updated. The people were nice, then another person showed up to shadow, which NO ONE told me about until someone rang my doorbell. So, the installation people were nice, but the SUPER long time it took to install was insane!

I was told I was getting a month free…

I was told I was getting a month free and was already being charged $200 that day for the equipment. Which made no sense since I was financed for everything well over what the cost was. I called and they said it be fixed. Today I got charged again. That’s fraud especially since I’ve already cancelled the service and equipment has been picked up.

I’ve tried multiple home security systems over the years, but Vivint is hands-down the best. Nothing else comes close! Their technology is cutting edge, far surpassing ADT with its modern, user-friendly features. The smart home automation is a game changer seamless, convenient, and absolutely worth every penny. The person who sold me the equipment lied to me he gave me one price, and you guys are charging me another
He said he was gonna come back to help me out and figure all this out the equipment installed.
I’m calling to get information and I keep getting transferred around. Nobody knows anything. I’m so disappointed of coming back to you guys. I should’ve never came back to you guys. I have no choice everything’s installed. This is so ridiculous so disappointing. I should’ve stayed ADT
