I dealt with Travelex initially last year in winter of 2024 for the same trip. My husband got very ill and could not be left alone. With appropriate documentation they asked no questions but refunded the trip in its entirety. This year I was afraid fhey wouldn't cover my trip. They did cover the trip no questions asked. I was more than pleased!
My son and I recently traveled to Nepal and he experienced a medical emergency while we were there. Luckily we had purchased travel insurance with Travelex and they were so helpful and kind through the whole ordeal. After arriving home, I made the online claim and we were fully reimbursed for the hospital fees and fees associated with having to change our travel dates. I’m so thankful and will definitely buy travel insurance through Travelex anytime we travel! Thank you!
While having an anticipated leg of our trip cancelled because of an airline issue was disappointing, knowing we had paid-for tickets to the Louvre and Eiffel Tower and we had to pay one night of our hotel since we couldn't notify in time to spare the fee made the experience feel worse. I was glad that I had purchased trip insurance which reimbursed us for our costs. This sort of benefit plus medical coverage will keep me as a customer.
Claim was denied.
Initially, the company was asking for a replacement receipts, does not make sense to replace lost and damage as there is no immediate need; then was denied bec loss/ damaged was in detention/confiscation on customs. A used branded bag and makeup, what could be confiscated here? The luggage was legitimately opened in customs, I’m sure not damaged there. someone forcibly opened the 2nd time.

Purchasing the insurance was easy.
We ended up needing to submit for reimbursement due to an airport issue. I called and spoke to a representative and they were helpful. Once we were home, I uploaded all the required documents and we were able to be reimbursed for a majority of our unexpected expenses due to the trip delay.

Zurich American Insurance Company is the underwriter and Zurich Travel Claims Administration (“ZTCA”) is the claim administrator for the policy you purchased. Travelex does not make claim determinations.
We have contacted ZTCA, and they have advised that your claim was received on March 31, 2025, and is pending proof of payment (copy of credit card statement) that they had requested on April 4th. Unfortunately, ZTCA is unable to proceed with the claim without the proper documentation. It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and documentation is required, for any claim.

We have reached out to Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (“BHSIC”), the underwriter and claim administrator for the policy you purchased. They informed us that your claim was initially submitted on 4/4/25 and they requested re-submission of a few of the documents they were unable to open.
The documents were re-submitted on 4/7/25 and in the queue for the examiner to review this week. BHSIC has also confirmed they are able to open these documents.
